Lisa spent her early career in public practice accounting, helping small to medium sized businesses with tax planning and year-end compliance. Lisa noticed a big problem in the market when she was working with fast-growing startups: there was a clear limit to how much a traditional CPA firm could help them, but most of these companies were also years away from hiring an in-house accounting and finance team. Lisa saw room for a firm that bridged the gap between what a traditional CPA firm could offer and what a full-time, in-house finance team could do. That’s where FrontierCFO began.

Since founding FrontierCFO in 2018, the most exhilarating part of Lisa's journey has been bringing together an incredible team to learn from and collaborate with. Working alongside them to solve tough challenges, help startups make important data-driven decisions at the earliest stages of growth, and help build the companies of tomorrow has been beyond rewarding.

Lisa lives on a rural acreage on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, where she dabbles in homesteading activities with her family, including dogs, cats, and hens. Lisa has found that the juxtaposition of the fast-paced startup life with the rural homesteading life forms a beautiful synergy, which surfaces unique insights into the world and the way we live.

Ali’s diverse background ranges from customer service, to working in the hospitality industry, to installing network systems, providing him with a unique perspective that helps him tackle many of the operational challenges FrontierCFO faces as the team continues to grow. Whether it’s delivering an awesome computer equipment package to a new team member, troubleshooting a technical IT issue, or auditing recurring expenses, Ali thrives when solving problems and implementing creative solutions.

For as long as he can remember, Ali has been an avid enthusiast of robotics and electronics. Whether it’s repurposing discarded motors and battery banks or building custom electrical circuit boards for holiday lighting, he can be found constantly tinkering with endless projects in his workshop.

Brielle possesses a remarkable aptitude for numbers and problem-solving. Her passion for accounting stems from the intellectual challenges it presents, which she finds akin to solving complex puzzles at a professional level. At FrontierCFO, Brielle has taken on increasingly senior roles, reflecting her exceptional skills, experience, and leadership qualities. She thrives in the fast-paced and dynamic environment FrontierCFO's clients give her, and is always eager to draw from her experience when diving into new projects. Brielle's outstanding communication skills are central to her success, allowing her to establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients while maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor.

Caitlin possesses a wealth of experience and a deep knowledge and comprehensive understanding of accounting standards and tax principles. It is this understanding that allows Caitlin to take complex financial principles and communicate in an easy to understand, accessible way for her clients. Caitlin’s vast experience from banking to public accounting has seen her build a client base of small businesses and entrepreneurs, helping them navigate their changing needs and supporting their evolving business goals.

Caitlin’s acute eye for detail allows her to bring creative solutions to the table which solve complicated problems for her clients. With a keen eye for assessing the past performance of her clients, Caitlin transforms their experiences into a bespoke strategy that leads them towards their desired objectives. By harnessing her strengths in strategy planning and forecasting, she provides her clients with reliable insights to make informed and effective strategic decisions. Caitlin firmly believes that building strong relationships with her clients is paramount in understanding their evolving needs and thereby serving them better. She takes immense pleasure in being part of their successes and relishes every moment of their journey.

Exploring new interests is a key part of Caitlin’s life. Outside of work Caitlin loves to travel, read and attempt to snowboard in the winter.

Ian is focused on using his broad and comprehensive knowledge of financial procedures and keen eye for detail to provide fluid and transparent bookkeeping services for his clients. He brings a positive and forward-thinking attitude to each project, and endeavours to leave his clients satisfied and happy. Ian's enthusiasm and cheer is contagious, spreading smiles and laughter to everyone he collaborates with.

Outside of work, Ian enjoys spending time outdoors, enjoying all that Vancouver has to offer, and playing board and video games with his friends. A chilled glass of Pinot Grigio and a fierce game of Catan with friends is a Sunday well spent.

Lauren has spent the last 10 years supporting businesses and entrepreneurs in various industries, working with start-ups and established businesses. She is a big-picture thinker and likes to unravel collaborative thoughts and ideas to create epic processes. Lauren is both analytical and creative; these two sides of her balance everything, including the books! With a people-first approach to life and leading every encounter with kindness and positivity, she hopes to leave every person she encounters with a smile on their face.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, cuddling her cats, and taking on various DIY projects.

Oleksandra has a strong record of leveraging her technical prowess and interpersonal abilities to cater to the requirements of her clients, thereby developing long-term relationships built on trust. As a lifelong learner driven by passion for emerging technologies, software, and digital trends, Oleksandra remains inquisitive and stays abreast of the latest developments. Oleksandra derives immense gratification from supporting her clients and their organizations in streamlining their workflows and accomplishing their strategic objectives. She is a problem solver at heart that can take ownership of projects and deliver a positive outcome.

Outside of work, Oleksandra enjoys travelling around the world and discovering new cultures. When she isn’t doing that, you can find her playing tennis and taking long bike rides.

Samantha began her career in Geology after graduating from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science. However, she quickly learned that living in a shack in the middle of a forest packed with bears wasn’t exactly her thing. Staying true to her love of numbers and detailed work, she found her home in accounting. Samantha has worked for a family business with a prominent presence in the Lloydminster area since before the pandemic hit—and she’s seen the struggles that can affect small businesses. She learned how important it is for these businesses to have solid financial strategies during rapid change. Samantha looks forward to gaining a deeper understanding of diverse industries and enhancing her knowledge base as she continues to help clients.

When not delighting in perfectly balanced Excel sheets, she can be found getting dragged around by her energetic black lab Joey. Samantha loves spending time at the lake with her family, travelling the world, and expanding her rock collection!

Sanya firmly believes that accounting isn't just numbers that tell you where you've been, but an important tool in the road to where you're headed. With over ten years of bookkeeping and operations experience, she's focused on helping her clients navigate challenges and achieve their success.  Her specialty has been shaping operational standards and synthesizing ideas into practical solutions.

Through a love of technology exploring new apps - Sayna supports the back end financial processes to ensure a smoother overall experience for her clients.  Finding new ways to make it easier for them to get back to their big ideas and big dreams!  Her love of solving challenges has given her a diverse range of business and accounting experience with industries from SaaS companies to not-for-profits.  

In the evening, you can find her adventuring with a book or a game and spending time with family and friends.

Staying true to her core values of trust, continuous education, and health (financial, emotional, and physical), Stephanie has cultivated a diverse background in leadership and accounting while establishing a passion for building highly effective teams to address the needs of Canada’s start-up community. Through collective education and inquisitive discussions, she can translate financial data into meaningful insights that strategically empower her clients towards their respective milestones and goals.

A self-proclaimed life-long-learner, Stephanie is always seeking opportunities to continue the path of personal growth. From books to webinars or professional development, Stephanie continues to grow her knowledge in emerging industry and technology trends. This curious nature continues through to her personal life, resulting in a wide array of hobbies. Whether outdoors hiking, running, swimming or snowboarding, or indoors with ballet and weight-lifting, there is always an opportunity to learn and grow. A mom of two (three if you count her retriever), Stephanie seeks to educate her children about the many cultures of the world through hands-on travel. If she’s not behind her desk, you are sure to find her alongside her family, experiencing life hands-on.

Wenneth brings with her several years of experience in public accounting and a strong understanding of financial concepts. With her strong affinity for numbers and keen eye for detail, she has a proven track record of accuracy and efficiency when it comes to financial analysis and reporting. She loves to solve problems and make sense of numbers - which is why she is so excited about the work she does! She is dedicated to provide timely solutions and services to help businesses succeed. She is also excited about all the changes happening in the accounting field, which keeps her motivated and engaged as she continues to learn and grow as an accountant.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading books, playing games, or watching movies. She loves spending time with her baby and family - and if there's any room left in her schedule, she'll often be found sipping another cup of coffee.
